The finest selection of Crafts & Design

Material Hunter is a Berlin-based agency specialised in the marketing and sales of design objects. Open for new and innovative ideas we are always on track for new trends and introduce up-and-coming designers to the European and South Korean market. Most of our designers and artisans live and work either in Seoul or in Berlin –hot spots for design and art.
Material Hunter stands for valued qualities, for tradition and innovation – the merging of high-quality materials and crafts competence with smart, original design. Sustainable, eco-friendly production and fair conditions for all our partners is for us a matter of course. Therefore, we mainly promote objects which are manufactured in the designer’s studio or small ateliers. An offer beyond fast moving consumption and any mass production.
Our customers are concept stores, hotels, interior designers, and galleries. Upon request we also develop limited editions and unique product lines in cooperation with designers and artisans.
Kim Hyun Sung mainly designs tableware and accessories for fine dining. Based on metal-smithing techniques, he creates series of candle holders and trays, trendsetting Korea’s contemporary living culture. His works are characterized by geometric shapes rounded up by sweeping lines and organic details. With the tools of his craftsmanship he gives each of his objects a pleasant and individual finish.
A vase is not a vase is a vase. „Small Tables“ by Andreas Berlin is a series of extraordinary furniture pieces made of vintage vases. The idea is to understand a vase not as product but as a sculptural segment. The designer collected more than 1000 old vases found on flea markets and in antique shops around Berlin to find the perfect and unique combination. Together with his team he managed to find a perfect construction between elasticity and stability for the columns made of vases of different dimensions and various geometry. An outstanding result of the unique experiment giving your space a nostalgic note and a highlight!
Basic shapes, sculptural elements and a functional feel combined with soft hues of pink, ice blue and turquoise form a most contemporary reinterpretation of the famous traditional white Korean Joseon wares. By extending or removing the basic components of three dimensional objects such as dots, lines, or surfaces, Lee Jeong Won creates a whole new space with her objects. A dynamic state with full potential to transform into any other form.
